Andrew Housser - Founder & Co-CEO
Andrew co-founded Freedom Financial Network in 2002 and Bills.com in 2005. Bills.com and Freedom have been recognized by the Inc 500 list, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Hot 100, and been named multiple times to the list of Best Places to Work in Silicon Valley and Phoenix. Previously, Andrew worked in the financial services industry, doing private equity investing with Littlejohn & Co., a $550 million private equity fund, and also worked in investment banking for Salomon Smith Barney. Andrew, together with co-founder Brad Stroh, is a past winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Northern California. Andrew sits on the board of directors of several startup companies as well as two independent school boards. Andrew received his MBA from Stanford Business School, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and he received a BA from Dartmouth College Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Brad Stroh - Founder & Co-CEO
Brad co-founded Freedom Financial Network in 2002 and Bills.com in 2005. Bills.com and Freedom have been recognized by the Inc 500 list, Entrepreneur Magazine’s Hot 100, and been named multiple times to the list of Best Places to Work in Silicon Valley and Phoenix. Additionally, Brad was named to Silicon Valley’s “40 Under 40” list and was named a regional winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award along with co-Founder Andrew Housser. He is an investor, advisor and Board Member to several entrepreneurial companies. Brad received his MBA from Stanford Business School, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and received a BA from Amherst College, where he captained the Lacrosse team.
Jeffrey Staley - Managing Partner
Jeff joined Freedom Financial Network in 2005 to partner with co-founders, Andrew and Brad, to dramatically expand the scope and scale of the business. Prior to that he was a growth equity investor at Summit Partners (including $200 million invested in financial services) and an investor in distressed commercial and consumer debt at CarVal Investors, a value oriented principal investor focused on loan portfolios, corporate credit and real estate.
Jeff received his MBA from Stanford Business School and a BA from Boston College, Summa Cum Laude. He’s married with 3 young boys in Menlo Park and enjoys staying active in the great Northern California environment.
Rich Ransom - Chief Financial Officer
Rich is responsible for the financial, accounting and treasury functions of FFN and its related businesses. Prior to joining FFN in early 2008, Rich was CFO with Fenwick & West, LLP in Mountain View, CA. He has had extensive experience with professional and financial services organizations, including CFO roles at McCown DeLeeuw & Co., a middle market buyout firm with over $1 billion in assets under management, and Hamilton Financial Services Corp., a national mortgage loan originator and servicer. Rich received his MBA from Stanford Business School and a BA from Vanderbilt University.
Joseph Toms - President - Freedom Financial Asset Management
Mr. Toms is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Freedom Financial Asset Management. Mr. Toms spent the past three years as a C-Level executive for both primary P2P platforms, Lending Club and Prosper. At Lending Club he was responsible for creating the company’s investment subsidiary, LC Advisors and subsequently became the Chief Investment Officer and President of Prosper Funding LLC. Prior to his direct lending experience he spent 25 years in asset management working for U.S. and European institutional accounts managing a variety of different investment products. His career started in 1985 at Fisher Investments (a $35 billion dollar equity manager) where he was one of the original employees and Director of Research. He was the founder and Managing Principal of Hilspen Capital Partners a long/short equity hedge fund and research boutique, served as a Director for RAB Capital Funds and was President and CIO of Compass Global Advisors, a $2 billion dollar Fund of Fund.
Robert Linderman – General Counsel
Bob has more than 28 years of legal and transactional experience with a cross-section of businesses ranging from venture-backed startups to banks to public companies. Bob was one of the earliest senior executives at NextCard, a pioneering Internet consumer credit card company/special-purpose bank, and has served as General Counsel to a range of financial services businesses. For the past 12 years, Bob has specialized in the legal and business issues that occur at the intersection of media, regulatory and consumer finance activity. Bob earned his Bachelor's and Law degrees from Boston University, Cum Laude with distinction. He is a member of both the California and Massachusetts Bar Associations, and is an active participant in several professional organizations.
Ethan Ewing - President of Bills.com
Ethan runs the Bills.com consumer portal for FFN. Prior to joining FFN, Ethan was a Vice President for Experian Interactive, a leader in online marketing and advertising, where he was responsible for developing strategic online partnerships with many of the internet's largest properties, including Yahoo, MSN, and American Online. Ethan has also built and run a direct to consumer business unit for Ameriquest Mortgage, managed a mortgage origination operation and consulted on secondary market bulk mortgage acquisitions. Ethan received his BA from Denison University, where he was a captain of the men's lacrosse team.
John W. Baker - Co-President and Chief Operating Officer
John joined FFN in 2013 and is responsible for corporate enterprise operations. Previously he was Senior Vice President of Enterprise Effectiveness for Caesars Entertainment, Inc., the world’s largest gaming entertainment company with over 50 casinos and hotels under several brands. He joined Caesars predecessor company, Harrah’s Entertainment, in 2005 as the Executive Associate to the Chairman, President and CEO. Prior to that, he was President and COO of HomeGain, Inc., a national online real estate services company, and was Senior Vice President and General Manager at Wells Fargo. He also held various positions with Booz, Allen & Hamilton consulting over a ten year period. John has been a Director at Six Flags Entertainment Corp since May 2010. He holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and an MBA from Stanford University.
Sean Fox - Co-President and Chief Revenue Officer
Sean leads marketing, sales, product, analytics, and business development for FFN. He joined FFN from Reply! Inc., a leading online marketing platform where he had served as Chief Operating Officer for the previous five years. Prior to Reply!, Sean was President of the social networking start-up Connecting Neighbors, which was purchased by Reply! in 2005. Sean began his online marketing career in 1998 with the start-up bamboo.com, which introduced “virtual tours” to the real estate and hospitality industries. That company went public in 1999 and then combined with its largest competitor to create Internet Pictures Corporation (iPix), where Sean served as VP of Sales and Strategic Alliances. Sean holds a J.D. from Georgetown Law School, a Master’s degree from Cambridge University, and two Bachelor’s degrees from Stanford University.
Dennis Harrison - Executive Vice President of Business Development
Dennis joined FFN in 2014 from Reply! Inc., a leading online marketing platform where he spent 5 years as EVP of Business Development and GM of its largest business unit. Prior to Reply!, Dennis was a member of the management team at data services company, TARGUSinfo, helping the company grow from $24m to over $100m in revenue. Dennis was also head of sales at location-based services pioneer, Vicinity from inception to IPO and an eventual acquisition by Microsoft. Dennis began his career in sales and sales management at Oracle Corporation. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Jon Pedley - Executive Vice President, Product Management
Jon brings years of experience throughout the financial services industry, including time at Charles Schwab and JPMorgan, to Bills.com. Through tools like Bills.com's Should I Refinance calculator and the innovative Debt Coach tool he hopes to put people in the driving seat of their money decisions. When he's not at Bills, you can find Jon skiing the trees at Alpine Meadows, CA. Jon graduated from the University of Cambridge and Stanford Business School.
Abhijat Thakur - Vice President of Engineering
Abhijat is a technologist with over 14 years of experience in software engineering design and development helping materialize concepts and ideas into applications that make a difference. Abhijat has held number of enterprise industry positions related to IT Asset Management, Virtualization and Gaming in companies like BDNA, VMware, Digital Chocolate and Bills.com. Abhijat is experienced in recruiting, managing and mentoring talented engineering teams. Abhijat specializes in Gaming Platforms, Multi-tier Enterprise Applications, Semantic Web and Social Networks with special focus on performance and scalability.
Diane Vigil – Vice President of Human Resources
Diane currently supports all human resource initiatives for Freedom Financial Network. She has extensive background in Human Resources, Training & Development, Employee Relations, and Call Center Management. A San Francisco native, Diane has worked for many telecommunications companies including Cellular One, GTE Mobilnet, MCI Worldcom, and Verizon Wireless. In addition to telecommunications, Diane has worked in the non-profit and student loan industries. When not keeping hundreds of employees happy and empowered, she and her husband Joe buy and restore very cool classic cars.
Jason Wolpe - Vice President of Customer Service
Jason manages all aspects of the FDR Customer Service Department. Prior to joining the Team at FDR, Jason had over 20 years of call center management experience, managing medium to large call centers and virtual call centers with over 15,000 phone representatives. Jason spent over 10 years in the Direct Response industry servicing clients for Bose, Richard Simmons and Orlimar golf clubs.
Jim Brown, Esq. - Vice President of Tax Resolution
Jim has been a licensed California attorney since 1992, during which time his practice has included tax law, debt collection law, personal injury litigation, and corporate governance. Jim gained significant tax experience as an associate to the author of the seminal self-help NOLO tax guide, "Stand Up To The IRS."Most recently, Jim served as corporate counsel for Taxes.com, a national tax resolution service. Jim has completed a wide range of tax matters including offers in compromise, audits, payroll tax negotiation, lien and levy release and innocent spouse protection. He is licensed to practice in U.S. Tax Court. After completing an Economics degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, Jim worked as a production manager in the high-tech industry. He earned his law degree and completed post-graduate tax work at Golden Gate University, School of Law.
Kenneth Wandstrat – Vice President of Affiliates and Underwriting
Kenneth is currently responsible for overseeing Affiliate relationships and development for Freedom Financial Network. Previously, Kenneth was an Account Executive with New Century Mortgage where he was responsible for new account development and broker relationship management. Additionally, he was the manager of Internet Business Development at New Century Mortgage. Ken received an MBA and BA from Xavier University.
Kevin Gallegos – Vice President of Sales and Phoenix Operations
Kevin currently leads the Arizona Account Executive office, and oversees all front-end operations of Freedom Debt. Kevin joined Freedom with over a decade of sales and customer service management experience. Kevin holds certifications in call center operations and credit counseling. Prior to joining the team Kevin worked with California Higher Education Loan Association, Southwest Student Services, and Bank One.
Kyle McPherson - Vice President of Global Customer Service & Negotiations
Kyle oversees all aspects of FDR’s back office operations, including the Customer Service, Negotiations and Settlement Processing Teams. Kyle came to Freedom Debt Relief with 17 years of call center management experience with a focus on Customer Service, Sales and Operations. Prior to joining FDR, Kyle was responsible for running call centers for companies such as DirecTV, Cox Communications and Dell Computer.
Nathan Mascenic - Vice President of Business Systems
Nathan is a business systems technologist with over a decade of experience in systems engineering and call center technologies. Nathan has a proven track record of seeing key company initiatives from vision to execution for companies ranging from small startups to well established enterprises. With a passion for success, Nathan mentors a team of talented technologists and rolls up his sleeves to help whenever and wherever needed. Merging technology experience with years of experience as a Chicago paramedic, Nathan is adept at triage and visualizing prioritized solutions. An avid cabinetmaker in his free time, his attention to detail also comes in handy building custom furniture. Nathan earned his Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, Summa Cum Laude.
Stan Jones - Vice President of Negotiations
Stan currently manages the Arizona Negotiations office. Stan joined Freedom Debt Relief with over 12 years of call center management experience with 9 of those years in collections. Prior to joining FDR Stan worked with Encore Capital, Southwest Student Services, USA Group, and EDS. He has his BA degree in Business and Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Carlyn Lamia - Director of Innovation & Business Development
Carlyn joined FFN in 2012 from Deutsche Bank, where she had spent almost a decade working in Leveraged Finance, International Industrial Coverage and illiquid debt origination and structuring for the Bank’s book as part of DB’s Special Situations team. Through her years on Wall St., Carlyn worked on over $12 billion of transactions, including debt, equity and M&A products. Her work spanned various industries, primarily: consumer products, clean energy, media & telecom, logistics, Organic and Natural foods and international microfinance. Carlyn has also been involved in various professional networks, including as co-chair of dbPride and as an active participant in Women on Wall Street.
Carlyn received a BA in Economics from Amherst College Cum Laude, where she was the captain of the Varsity Field Hockey team. She is also a former recipient of the Zeidman fellowship, for study in Beijing, China.
